If you are aiming for an Data Science job or career you require some specific knowledge. Data Science jobs requires a unique set of skills. One needs different skills and talents in particular because there are more information present on internet platform but these are specific and important things, that the person who aims for an Data Science job requires.

Anyone can learn analytics if they dedicate some time and effort to it. If someone excited about web blogs, health related data they can contribute to productivity. If you are selected in a Data Science team you require; First thing is look for curiosity. Second thing is sense of humour. If someone is more serious they can’t see the lighter elements. Third thing is look for technical skills.

Someone should be able to manipulate and work with data, should be able to communicate what they find in data, they have to work across different departments and technical components. If the person has good math and statistical background they have to consider like problem solving ability and analysis. They should love to play with data and analytical thinking.

If you want to work in traditional market research data, you need some statistical knowledge and on basic statistical algorithms and some machine learning algorithms. If you want work with Big Data you should be able to store data, manipulate large amounts of data, and applying algorithms to data.

If you are working with unstructured data then Python is suitable than R. If you are working with Big Data then Hadoop and spark are best environments. Second aspect of Data Science is communication or called story telling skills and also presentation skills to present your findings and technical skills.
